On October 21st, CATS, in collaboration with NHR4CES, will once again launch a series of training courses in the field of HPC usage.

It starts with an introduction into turbulence modeling and numerical implementation

HPC training series: CFD training*

In this course, the CATS, in cooperation with the Simulation and Data Lab for fluid of the NHR4CES, provides an introduction to the structural properties of various turbulence modeling concepts (RANS, LES, and hybrid RANS/LES), including the associated equations. In addition to the presentation, the corresponding computing environment, including preprocessing, simulation implementation, and postprocessing, is provided for several illustrative flow configurations based on the open-source CFD software OpenFOAM.

In the following weeks, further dates will be offered, based partly on each other
but can be visited independently from eachother, and to which you have to register individually.

Start: 21.10.’25; 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Location: Online / Hybrid

Next Dates: 28.10.’25, 04.11.’25, 11.11.’25

Requirements:

  • The event will be held in English!

Further information on the process and background details can be found here.

You can register via the respective event pages.
